UTokyo Future Society Initiative (UTokyo FSI)

The University of Tokyo established the UTokyo FSI in July 2017. The aim of the Initiative is to contribute to the future of humanity and the planet, based on the University’s mission of serving the global public. This aim is congruent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015.

The UTokyo FSI oversees and promotes the diverse research and education activities that are the hallmark of a comprehensive university, while also making initial investments to form future academic assets and actively communicating the achievements of these assets. It is a new framework for expanding university administration methods from operation to management.
