UTokyo Men's Track & Field Team Wins 7-Univ. Competition and Women's Team Takes 6th Place

A men's and women's track and field competition was held as part of the Seven Universities Athletic Meet (7-Univ.) at Oi Central Seaside Park from July 30 to July 31, 2016.

The UTokyo men's track and field team won the championship and the women's team took 6th place.

As a result of the above competitions, 10 points and 2 points given for the men's and women's track and field competitions have been awarded to UTokyo.
UTokyo is still in the first place for the total ranking, although Osaka University, the current 2nd place university, is gradually closing the gap.

Also, a joint performance by the Seven Universities Cheer Squad Team in the UTokyo Yasuda Auditorium was held on August 7, 2016.
Since this performance is not part of the 7-Univ. competition, it does not affect the total score. However, the performance livened up the seven universities' teams as each cheer squad cheered for the victory of their own university. The seven universities famously conduct this performance every year.
 
The 7-Univ. competition will soon reach its halfway point. Please continue to cheer on UTokyo so that the teams will increase the lead UTokyo has had since the competition's opening.
