AEARU(The Association of East Asian Research Universities)
| The University of Tokyo is a founding member of the Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU), which was established in January 1996, to create a forum bringing the leading research-oriented universities in the East Asian region together to collaborate in fields of mutual interest. As of May 2004, AEARU was composed of 17 member universities: five from China, six from Japan, three from Korea, two from Taiwan, and one from Hong Kong. |
