Economics and Management -A Statement from Tokyo |
Purport: Research in economics and management at The University of Tokyo makes use of variety of methodologies including economic theory, statistical analyses, policy evaluations, historical investigations, international comparisons, field works, and methodological studies; its themes range from general equilibrium theory to history of economic thoughts, and from mathematical financial theory to analysis of Japanese-style management. Our goal in attending this forum is to select a number of outstanding works within such diverse research activities and present them to the Swedish academic world. We would like specifically to introduce works on the evolutionary game theory and the empirical macroeconomics in the field of economics, the study of Toyota-style manufacturing system and the comparative marketing analysis in the field of management, and the legal-cum-economic theory of corporate governance as a link between these two fields.
