Toward the latter half of post 5G (after 2025), the network traffic will increase more than the current amount by 10 to 100 times. Hence, enormous electrical power will be required for the communication facilities to accommodate such traffic. In addition, AI-enabled intelligent network operation will be indispensable in providing a variety of new services. In this research and development for the virtualized network equipment, we will investigate hardware acceleration technologies of the network software. Moreover, we will investigate the chipset configuration relevant to the network equipment utilizing general purpose hardware, such as FPGA and GPU, and having the features of efficient power consumption and high-performance, along with CPU. Second, we will establish the AI technology to autonomously generate the training data required for network operation leveraging GAN (Generative Adversary Network), using the data collected from the network in operation.
