USTEP program policy for Autumn 2021

Dear Students planning to do study abroad through USTEP

We would like to update you regarding the current status of the USTEP outbound program. We will not be making a blanket decision regarding the fall programs (July to October departure). Instead, we will decide based on the region/nation of your destination. This is done to maximize the possibility of study abroad opportunities for the students while closely monitoring the impact of the novel coronavirus.

At the same time, it is important to be realistic about the challenges this world faces now. It is likely that the risk of the novel coronavirus will not subside for a while. Already some schools in the world are announcing cancellation of their exchange programs for the fall and later.

We are both disappointed to see the ongoing difficulties of traveling abroad. We know many of you have been waiting for an opportunity to study outside Japan and we feel your deep sense of disappointment. We hope to be able to resume our international exchanges before long, while prioritizing the safety of the students and the society. In spite of this situation, we hope you will continue to retain your passion for understanding different societies that exist beyond the boundaries of Japan. The school’s headquarters will offer various international programs that do not require traveling, such as short-term online exchanges. Once it becomes safe for the students to travel, we will look into the possibility of offering different forms of assistance to help many students reach their goal of study abroad.

We will be updating the information about our outbound programs periodically on the Go Global Website.
