Japan India Exchange Platform Program

A Meeting for Inter-University Exchange Project (India) AY 2017 was held.

The meeting started with a greeting from Prof. Masashi Haneda, Executive Vice President, UTokyo and Ms. Taka Horio, Deputy Director, Office for International Planning, Higher Education Bureau, MEXT. This was followed by Hiroshima University and Hokkaido University introducing the newly selected programs, with Nagaoka University of Technology, Ritsumeikan University, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and UTokyo reporting on the progress of each project as well as sharing good practices and problems. UTokyo then introduced the Japan India Exchange Platform Program. Participants agreed that exchanges through teaching of Japanese language and Japanese culture are still important, even though all the exchange programs are with Indian Institute of Technology. Additionally, it was opinioned that information exchanges and strengthening of collaboration within selected universities should be continued.

The meeting was closed by Prof. Naoto Sekimura, Vice President, UTokyo after the message from Mr. Kazumi Shindo, Director, Office for International Planning, Higher Education Bureau, MEXT.
