12 | Contents | Purpose: This course aims to: (1) develop communication and basic language skills in order to do interview surveys in Japanese; (2) improve overall skills in Japanese through various activities; (3) know the various perspectives of Japanese people through communication with Japanese UTokyo students. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
Description: In this course, students will learn practical academic skills useful for studying in Japanese. This program is composed of 5 classes (1.5 hours each). Through this program students will learn how to ask questions, express their opinions and give presentations in Japanese. Session 3 is an interview session with the Japanese UTokyo students. Students can experience a real interview in Japanese through this activity. On the final day, students will give a 5-minute presentation in Japanese with a question and answer session. *This is a combination of lecture and interactive class that simulates face-to-face sessions. In principle, therefore, the students are requested to have their camera on during the class. Active participation is strongly encouraged. Schedule: Session 1:
Assignments: students are required to complete an assignment everyday. Students must expect to spend about one hour everyday for an assignment .
