概要

東京大学では、グローバルな教育を重視し、学生の海外留学や国際的な活動への参加を推進しています。今回は、コロンビア大学教授でDirector of the Center for Sustainable Developmentや国連のSustainable Development Solutions Network 責任者等を務めるJeffrey Sachs氏が東京大学をご訪問される機会を得ましたので、学生のみなさんとの交流イベントを企画します。 Sachs氏には、世界が直面するグローバルな課題と、日本および東京大学が果たすべき役割について、ご講演いただくとともに、藤井輝夫総長および学生との対話を行います。モデレーターは石井菜穂子理事です。本学学生のみなさんにとって刺激的で意義あるイベントですので、奮ってご参加ください！

“The New Politics of Sustainable Development”
Achieving sustainable development requires new strategies for national policy making and international cooperation. Public investments must be increased around the world and new long-term planning and financing mechanisms will be necessary to support the increase in public investments. Cooperation with neighboring countries and globally are more urgent than ever. All countries must make concerted efforts to reduce geopolitical tensions and military spending, with today’s military spending redirected towards sustainable development.
