The 2000th Commemorative Symposium of the Department of Chemistry Zasshikai seminar, School of Science

Since 1890 (Meiji 23), the Department of Chemistry in the School of Science at the University of Tokyo has held the “Zasshikai seminar,” a forum in which faculty and students present and discuss papers primarily from international chemical journals. For over 130 years, this gathering has served as a platform for students and faculty to share the latest advances in chemistry and to foster open and lively academic discussion.

This year marks a significant milestone with the 2000th meeting of the Zasshikai seminar. To commemorate this occasion, we will host a special event, inviting distinguished researchers closely associated with our department to deliver lectures that serve as role models for students. Through this event, we aim to celebrate and pass on the spirit and academic value of the Zasshikai seminar to the next generation.
