| Discipline's Overview | The educational program of public policy, through a rigorous two-year sequence of education
and training, equips future professionals with the conceptual framework and the specific skills
they will need in public service. The initial emphasis of the curriculum is on buliding the basic
abilities and skills required for policy analysis, management, and communication. The core
curriculum consists of three basic disciplines: jurisprudence, politics, and economics. An
understanding of each discipline is required for policy professionals to be able to recognize the
nature and dimensions of social problems at hand, make the best solution, and then evaluate its
consequences. We use practical cases of policy making and implementation to help students
learn how to manage complicated social issues. According to their career objectives, students will choose one among the following four educational divisions: law and public policy, public management, international affairs, and economic policy. |
