Ten years ago, Prof. Kobayashi attended the Japan Education Fair in India and met a student, who later enrolled in the doctoral course of Hokkaido University and started working in his laboratory as an assistant professor. Prof. Kobayashi has collaborated with Railway Technical Research Institute and accepted students from Indian Ministry of Railways. He is also assigned as a program leader of “International Research Skills Program for Developing Sustainable Transportation System and Infrastructure” conducted in Hokkaido University from 2017.
