He worked for Sony Corporation for more than 30 years. He was mainly in charge of computer products and frequently visited Silicon Valley in the US. From 2008, he worked in Bangalore, India, for 7 years. He was involved in software development for the internal IT system of Sony Group. He visited Indian universities and recruited many students; the number of local staff increased from approximately 600 to 1800. He felt that IT industry in India is quickly evolving, but realized little people in Japan know that. He wrote a book “India Shift: Why Global Top Companies Set Up R&D Centers in India,” proposing that Japan and India can create global innovation and solutions if they work together. He thinks it is not easy, but is also a huge opportunity for the both countries.
