India–Japan Higher Education Conclave 2025: Media Coverage in India (Part 1)

From December 7 to 22, 2025, Professor Kaori Hayashi, Executive Vice President, participated in an outreach tour hosted by O.P. Jindal Global University in India, visiting Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru. At each location, she took part in panel discussions titled India–Japan Higher Education Conclave, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between O.P. Jindal Global University and the University of Tokyo, and engaged with members of the press and media.

While the themes discussed at the Conclave varied by region, members of the press showed particularly strong interest in the contents of the MoU and the potential for future collaboration with Japanese universities, raising numerous questions.
We believe that this series of media engagements has contributed to enhancing understanding of Japanese universities across the South Asia region.
These initiatives also attracted significant attention from local media, with the visit, the MoU signing, and activities related to the India–Japan Higher Education Conclave 2025 being widely covered by both education-focused and general media outlets across India.
