Executive Vice President Yamato Attended and Presented at a Science and Technology Seminar on the Occasion of Prime Minister Abe’s Visit to India

Prof. Hiroyuki Yamato, Executive Vice President of the University of Tokyo in charge of Industry-Academic Relations, attended the “Science and Technology Seminar in Business and Academia (STSBA)” on 25th January, where he gave a presentation on the research at the University of Tokyo, about cooperation with India, relationships between industry and universities, and international students coming to Japan and the University of Tokyo in particular. This seminar was held in relation to the Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s visit to India.
In Prime Minister Abe’s speech, he called upon the members of India’s academia and its students, who were attending the seminar that he would welcome the excellent talents in India to come to Japan so that they may carry out further research together.
Among the presentations of the event, special lectures were given by Dr. Mamoru Mohri, Executive Director of “Miraikan” (the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) and Prof. Ken-ichi Kawarabayashi of the National Institute of Informatics. The seminar ended a great success.
