I am Ajay Kumar Mishra pursued masters degree in Environmental Science and Technology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. My home town is in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. After my masters degree I worked as Senior Research Fellow in Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, India from Aug. 2011- Aug. 2014, then I joined Institute of Environmental Studies, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India as Assistant Professor till March 2015.

Kyoto being the oldest city having beautiful tourist places. The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. I personally appreciate the way people greet each other and their kindness. My favorite place I visited in Kyoto is Arashiyama, which is a nationally designated historic site and place of scenic beauty.

The foremost thing that really convinced me to study and stay is the cooperation and kind support by my laboratory members. I appreciate the working environment and well equipped laboratory.

Kyoto University is among top ranking not only in Asia but also in the world and mainly known for quality research in natural sciences and above all it provides holistic approach to explore and upscale the students potential in terms of research and scientific zeal. Kyoto University’s reputation as a centre of research excellence and has been home to nine Nobel prize winners and two Fields medal recipients. Another important element of the attraction is my area of interest in which my supervisor has vast experience and knowledge. I am privileged to be the part of this University.

Before coming to Japan, I and my family was much worried about the vegetarian food availability and the nature of the people. Once I joined my laboratory, they all cooperated and helped me a lot in all respect to adjust over here. Now I am feeling blessed to be here having very caring lab mates.

In my point of view, if someone is from science and technology background then Japan is the best destination for perusing the higher degree. In terms of Environmental Studies, you can gain diverse solution based approach and knowledge to mitigate climate change and disaster management strategies. In nut shell, Nowhere in the world you can find such a learning environment and mentors. Choosing Japan as a study center will be a life changing step where you recognize your potential and upscale your knowledge base.
