Please give a short introduction of yourself.
My name is Stuti Bist. I was born and brought up in Delhi, the capital city of India. My hometown is Uttarakhand, a hilly region in the Northern India having the smaller peaks of the Himalayas. I completed my under graduation in Electrical and Electronics engineering and came to Japan to pursue MBA from International University of Japan.
What is your favorite thing about Minami-Uonuma City?
I am really in love with the Minami Uonuma city. Staring from the distinct weather conditions to the beauty of Hakakaisan, I experienced an authentic part of Japan staying in this city. The sakura and the snow are the best part. Also, koshihikari rice famous all over Japan is harvested in the region.
In what way has your impression of Minami-Uonuma City or Japan changed since coming here?
Before coming to Japan, I had the image of Japan which is very technologically advanced and a developed nation. Now, after staying here for more than a year, I feel that yes that image of Japan that I had before was apt as even in villages they have all the basic facilities and using over the top technology to solve the problems.
What attracted you to choose IUJ as a place to study?
IUJ is a place where the World gathers. I thought that when you are an MBA, you need to have an international exposure and which other place would have provided m with such a wonderful exposure of living and working with people from over 50+ nationalities. I was amazed and hence, chose IUJ for pursuing MBA.
In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?
Japanese culture is similar to my culture in a few aspects but regarding the basic activities and food, I changed my taste. I was a vegetarian before but changed to non-vegetarian (from vegetables to seafood. I think the culture made me more organized and punctual.
Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?
I encourage to come and study in Japan. I also recommend to learn the Japanese language before arriving here as it will definitely help you in adapting and adjusting to the day to day activities as well as will be beneficial for the future.
