What is your favorite thing about Sapporo City?

Cleanliness is one of the greatest things, not only in Sapporo, but all over in Japan. Beside that what I like most is the natural beauty of Sapporo, where you can enjoy four seasons in their best way.

In what way has your impression of Sapporo City or Japan changed since coming here?

I already had some ideas about Japan as my friends and professor are frequently visited Japan. As a foreigner I thought it will be very difficult to cop up with new culture, but Sapporo has a nice and polite welcoming gesture for all foreigners especially for students. Life is become so easy and secured.

What attracted you to choose Hokkaido University as a place to study?

As Hokkaido University is 4th largest university in Japan, obviously it has its own glory to attract student. For my point of view I had better opportunities to do my research work with high facility lab and working environment.

In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?

In the very beginning of my stay I used to learn Japanese in University for daily communication. I also made many Japanese friends with whom I have ideas of food culture, tea ceremony and also I tried Kimono. I gradually come to know the educational system by joining several camps with high school and junior high school students. Its really interesting for me as a Indian to learn a culture which is very different.

Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?

I highly recommend my country students to come and study in Japan. It is the country where you can learn how time management is so important in daily life. For researcher, working environment is best and you can get highly facilitate lab to perform your research in highest level. Japanese government keen to attract more international student by giving various types of scholarship and grants through Ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology (MEXT) and Japan student services organization (JASSO).
I request every student to come to Japan, the land of rising sun, the land of bullet train, and of course try one of the best exotic cuisines in world with mouth watering sushi and noodles.
