Please give a short introduction of yourself.

I am Ranipet Hafeez BASHA (Age: 30 years)from Hyderabad City in India, did my Ph. D in Renewable Energy at Kumamoto University.

What’s your favorite thing about Kumamoto City?

Residents of Kumamoto City are very kind and helpful, cost of living is cheap and affordable to foreigners, safe place and pure drinking water.

In what way has your impression of Kumamoto City or Japan changed since coming here?

Foreigners usually consider Japan as prone to natural disasters like Earthquake, Tsunami and Volcanic Eruptions, but after living in Japan for three years we realize it is very safe.

What attracted you to choose Kumamoto University as a place to study?

International Engineering Symposium (IES) and International Joint Education Program (IJEP) of Kumamoto University.

In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?

Food was major concern, but we were able to order grocery online from Tokyo / Osaka stores and cook at home; language was also barrier, but it was easy to adjust to Japanese culture.

Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?

Japan is world’s best in Technology, educational standards are high, excellent laboratory facilities; it is worth to study at Japan for people who have passion for research.
