In what way has your impression of NARA (IKOMA) or Japan changed since coming here?

Before I was thinking I will have problem in communication but I did not face any difficulty after coming here. My lab mates, Prof. and NAIST staffs are so much cooperative and good at English. Even our institute provides us Japanese classes for beginner which is quite helpful.

What attracted you to choose NAIST as a place to study?

I liked Prof. Kawai’s research topic so I applied to NAIST. But when I came here for a short term internship I found institute is well furnished and equipped with highly sophisticated instruments and its research environment is so appropriate and prosperous. The infrastructure of the campus is well maintained.

In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?

I like the Japanese’s simplicity and helpful nature and even their beautiful culture. So I don’t feel that I had to adjust with anything.

Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?

Japan is a very nice place to explore and its research environment is so convenient and enthusiastic. You won’t find much difficulty in communication and even you will enjoy your stay in Japan. Here foreigners are warmly welcome without any sign of discrimination. So pursuing study in Japan is not a bad idea.
