I am tarini, from Chennai. Doing my phd in Shizuoka university, Mext scholar.
What is your favorite thing about Hamamatsu City?
Hamamatsu is very calm and people here treat me as a family member.
In what way has your impression of Hamamatsu City or Japan changed since coming here?
Hamamatsu is peaceful and Japan is been very kind and helpful in all ways to make my living easy.
What attracted you to choose Shizuoka University as a place to study?
It has an engineering division separately in Hamamatsu and very convenient for students-professors interaction. Research is focused here and it’s a beautiful campus.
In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?
First I hesitated to try Japanese food but later I learnt more about Japanese food and health benefits and now enjoy eating it. Japanese festivals are very interesting and curiosity to learn another culture helped me to enjoy japan.
Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?
It’s one of the best place to learn, explore and enjoy. Japanese people are helpful to foreigners and very kind in teaching Japanese.
