Message

Please give a short introduction of yourself.

I am Mohammad Moinuddin, a phd from Graduate School of Letters, Osaka University and presently working as a Specially appointed Assistant.
Professor at the same place.

What is your favorite thing about Osaka Prefecture?

Peacefulness and cooperative people. I love the Sakura and greenery around my university. The food of this area has always been favorite to me.

In what way has your impression of Osaka or Japan changed since coming here?

Earlier the food and livelihood was a big concern for me. But after staying for a certain period of time I felt that this is not a concern any more, and the life is very comfortable in Osaka.

What attracted you to choose Osaka University as a place to study?

Well, in the beginning I had no idea of Osaka or Kobe or Kyoto, but it was Osaka University that made me choose this place.

In what way did you adjust yourself to Japanese culture?

What one needs to do is to participate with the local Japanese people. They are very good. I participate in the JICHIKAI (local body) activities with many volunteers. And to me that is the best place to know each other. The Japanese people always try to understand other’s culture and they respect others’ habit and so on.

Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be thinking about studying in Japan?

Japan is a very lovely, peaceful and clean place. People around, the government officials are very cooperative and polite. You may not face problem with your food habits, as recently you may even buy Indian curry, Nan etc at a super market. Moreover, the linguistic part may also not be an issue, as much information is available in English and even free interpreters are available at local city offices. The volunteers can help you free of cost; you just need to approach the right place.
