Please give a short introduction about yourself.
I am Viney Mehta from Delhi. After graduation from Delhi university I went to Japan in 1980 and joined Nanzan University to learn Japanese Language. After learning Japanese at Nanzan University I completed Master’s course in commerce from Meijo University. After staying for almost eight years I returned to India in 1988.
Please give a simple description of your work at your workplace.
I was in charge of General Affairs matter of the company and my responsibility was Visa for Japanese staff, their accommodation in India, Import of Japanese food from Japan and office lease matters etc.
What attracted you to choose Mitsubishi Corporation India (P) Ltd. as a place to pursue your career?
During my childhood I used to look One Rupee note where on the backside there was image of Offshore oil drilling platform which was built by Mitsubishi. Since then I had curiosity in Japan and It was my dream to work with Japanese company so that I can use my Japanese language skills and I was lucky to join Mitsubishi Corporation. Having worked for 26 years I have retired in 2015 October as General manager and presently working I am working as advisor.
It is rightly said “To succeed you need to find something to hold onto something to motivate you, something to inspire you”, and Mitsubishi has brought that success in my life I want to express by deepest gratitude to this giant company to make me the person I am today. This establishment which sparkling away in its pristine glory has left its indelible imprint in every facet of my life. It has provided me multitudinous opportunities for self-growth and development.

How do you like life in Japan and Japanese culture?
I was vegetarian before I moved to Japan and had to adjust myself into a non-vegetarian as I really wanted to explore Japan more. I felt Japan was my second home. My friends were very supportive. While studying Japanese I used to watch TV programs which helped me learn new words/ phrases. During my eight years of stay in Japan I had chance to participate in several TV programs including Propose Daisakusen.
Please give a message to students or researchers in your home country who may be contemplating studying in Japan?
Come and pursCompared to other countries Japan is very safe country to live in and best choice for students from India as in Japan you can experience both the rich ancient culture of Japan and also experience living in a modern city.

Living in Tokyo would give you an opportunity to study and learn in one of the most reputed universities in the world and you would be able to network and make friends with people from many countries.ue your career in Japan. I am sure that you will find yourself well satisfied eventually.
