Since 2013, China has proposed the national strategy of Belt and Road, which has brought great impact on the world economic and trade relations. The Belt and Road refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt on the road, and the Road refers to the Maritime Silk Road. Among them, the Maritime Silk Road is from the coastal areas of China from the sea to Europe. There are numerous countries involved.

In the blueprint of the Belt and Road proposed by China, economic and trade relations are at the center, involving numerous fields such as economy, law, taxation, foreign exchange, dispute settlement, etc. Among them the legal system is particularly important. Corporate law, as the basic law of the capital market, is of great importance in either country. This book focuses on the corporate law system and comprehensively organizes and explains the corporate law systems of eleven countries involved in China's Maritime Silk Road, including Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Timor-Leste. These eleven countries also belong to Southeast Asian countries. In recent years, the rapid economic development of Southeast Asia is of great significance to both Japan and China. However, the corporate law systems of these countries are rarely described in the literature. It is on this basis that this book hopes to fill the gap in this field by organizing the corporate law systems of these countries.

Regarding the structure of this book, the eleven countries covered are divided into chapters in addition to the introductory chapter. In the introductory chapter, the book focuses on the basic information of the Maritime Silk Road, an overview of the current situation and future development of economic and trade relations between China and the coastal countries along the Maritime Silk Road, aiming to give the reader a macroscopic understanding of the basic situation of the Maritime Silk Road.

Among the eleven specific chapters, the first chapter is for the Laos. Chapter 2 is for the Cambodia. The third chapter is for the Brunei. Chapter 4 is for the Indonesia. Chapter 5 is for the Timor-Leste. Chapter 6 is for the Singapore. Chapter 7 is for the Thailand. Chapter 8 is for the Myanmar. Vietnam in for the Chapter 9. Chapter 10 is for the Philippines. Chapter 11 is for the Malaysia. Due to the great differences between the company law systems of the eleven countries, and also due to the limited information available, this book does not have an entirely consistent approach to the description of company law in these eleven countries. Mainly from the perspective of company types, the relevant systems of each country are examined, organized and illustrated mainly around the issues of company types, company establishment, shareholders, shareholders' meeting, directors and board of directors, supervisory system, managers, stock system, corporate bond system, bankruptcy and liquidation of companies, etc.

The book is published by Tsinghua University Press and contains 424 pages and approximately 510,000 words in total.
