Tatsuki Yamanami (Master's Student, Graduate School of Frontier Science, UTokyo)

Mr. Tatsuki Yamanami, a master's student at the University of Tokyo, participated in a workshop held in IITH as a part of “i.school,” an educational program that fosters innovative and creative students. He pursues his research theme “Survey on Social Acceptance of Automatic Driving Systems" not only at the university but also at a company he founded. In order to apply his research outcomes to cross-sectional and international city planning and social designing, he cooperates with various organizations and expands his field of activities in India. He has visited India several times after the workshop. He referred to the development of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, noting that while Japanese companies often provide support for hardware infrastructure, many other countries focus on funding startups and other businesses. After investigating the current state of the Indian economy and its infrastructure, he found out three key points for linking investment in infrastructure and investment in startup ecosystems. They are 1) ability to carry out projects across countries, 2) solidarity of societies in remote areas, and 3) establishment of a cross-appointments system between India and Japan.
