Japan Scholar Lectures held in Kathmandu and Delhi
Professor Toshiro Nishizawa of the University of Tokyo gave lectures at the Ullens School and Kathmandu University in Kathmandu, Nepal, and at the Shiv Nadar University in Delhi, India.
On March 24, a mini-lecture on “Sustainability and Finance-Implications for Nepal” was held at the Ullens School for up to 110 upper grade students. In response to the question “What are the social issues in Nepal?”, the students shared their opinions on how to solve them.
At the Kathmandu University, 38 students and faculty members from the School of Management discussed the same theme as above, but focused more on how public policy can contribute to addressing social issues in Nepal.

On 27th March, Professor Nishizawa presented a lecture titled “Sustainability Challenges and Our Shared Future: The Role of Public Policy for Future Generations” at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Shiv Nadar University. 40 students and faculty members listened attentively to the lecture and asked questions during the Q&A session which followed the lecture. After the lecture, many students came to Professor Nishizawa individually and asked questions about the lecture itself and the graduate school at UTokyo.
We will continue to send researchers under the Japan Scholar program in FY2025.

【Japan Scholar Program】
The Japan Scholar Program sends researchers affiliated with research institutions in Japan to universities and high schools in South Asia, where they give mock lectures and talks about studying in Japan. The program aims to promote Japan's research capabilities and educational strengths through lectures to local high school and university students.
