Annual IC3 Conference & Expo Report ② Participation in the Study in Japan Pavilion and Related Events
On August 19 and 20, 2026, the University of Tokyo took the lead in organizing the Study in Japan Pavilion at the Annual IC3 Conference & Expo held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India. The University promoted the appeal of studying in Japan in collaboration with participating Japanese universities and organizations (see the list of participating institutions below).
At the Study in Japan Pavilion, the University of Tokyo and other participating Japanese universities and organizations provided high school students, parents, school counselors, and other visitors with information on higher education in Japan, study-abroad opportunities, academic programs offered by each university, admissions, and scholarships.
More than 2,500 visitors came to the Study in Japan Pavilion over the two-day event, where many inquiries regarding English-taught undergraduate programs as well as a wide range of academic fields, including engineering, computer science, business, and medicine were received.
During the Networking Session held as part of the conference, representatives exchanged information with high school career and college counselors and other education professionals, primarily from India. The session provided an opportunity to share information about studying in Japan, discuss possibilities for future collaboration, and build new networks.
In addition, on August 18, prior to the Annual IC3 Conference & Expo, the University participated in the Mini Japan Fair held at the Witty International School as a pre-event organized by the Indian education consulting company Acumen. Local high school students were introduced to study opportunities in Japan and academic programs offered by Japanese universities at the event.
Through this series of activities, the University once again observed the strong interest in studying in Japan among students in India and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining continuous collaboration between Japanese universities and high schools and education professionals in India.
The University of Tokyo will continue to work with relevant institutions to promote the appeal of studying in Japan and to support greater student mobility between Japan and India, as well as to promote study opportunities in Japan for students from the South Asia region.
