Academic Year 2026 Research Restart and Work-Life Balance Support Programs for the Promotion of Work–Life Balance
Eligibility
The applicant must be a faculty member (excluding professors), a full-time project faculty member (excluding project professors), or a full-time project researcher who falls under any of the following.
Applicants with fixed-term appointments are also eligible to apply. However, this excludes fixed-term appointees for whom it is known that, upon expiration of their term, they will no longer meet the eligibility requirements for support or will transfer outside the University.
(1)Those who reside with and are raising a child (or children) who have not yet reached the age for entering elementary school [childcare]
(2)Those who reside with and are primarily responsible for caring for a relative certified as requiring long-term care [family care]
(3)Those with other circumstances equivalent to the above

| Eligibility Requirements | Applicants must meet all of the following conditions: [1] Have returned (or are returning) in 2025 or 2026 from any of the leave or time-off described below. a. Postnatal leave or childcare leave taken following postnatal leave. b. Childcare leave or family care leave of three months or more. [2] If the return to work under item [1] took place in 2025, the applicant must not have received Support for Research Restart of JPY 1,000,000 for the same child or family member. |

2.Continued Support for Research Restart
| Purpose |
To support the career development of researchers resuming their careers after childcare leave, caregiving leave, or similar forms of leave. |

Returned from postnatal leave, or from childcare leave taken following postnatal leave between April 1, 2020 and December 31, 2025. b. Returned from childcare leave or family care leave of three months or longer between April 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025. ※If the return to work took place in 2025 and the applicant has received Support for Research Restart of JPY 1,000,000 for the same child or family member, the applicant shall apply for this support. |

3.Support for Work-Life
| Purpose | To support the employment of support staff for researchers balancing childcare or family care with education and research. |

| Eligibility Requirements | Applicants must meet one of the following conditions: [1] For “ Those who reside with and are raising a child (or children) who have not yet reached the age for entering elementary school ”, and who have taken, or are scheduled to take, any of the following types of leave between April 1, 2020, and December 31, 2026. a. (Neonatal) Childcare leave b. Leave for a partner’s childbirth (special leave) [2] For “Those who reside with and are primarily responsible for caring for a relative certified as requiring long-term care”, there are no additional requirements. |

※As the execution period and permissible uses of funds are subject to restrictions under the applicable subsidy regulations.
