Oiwake International Village

Oiwake International Village is now being prepared as an accommodation facility for mainly researchers engaging in research education and activities at UTokyo following the change of use of the Oiwake International Hall of Residence buiding.
This accommodation is sequentially accepting researchers from July, 2022.

Eligibility & Permitted Period of Stay

  • Researchers engaging in research education and activities at UTokyo and their spouses and children
  • Doctoral course students enrolled at UTokyo and their spouses and children
  • Medical interns working at the University of Tokyo Hospital and their spouses and children
  • Students with special needs in term of their physical conditions, etc. enrolled at UTokyo and their caregiver(s)
 

     

    The basic permitted term of stay is from a minimum of 14 days up to a maximum period of
      one year.
  However, the permitted term of stay can be renewed upon request every year up till the end of 
  one’s regular term of enrollment at UTokyo for doctoral students and up till the end of one’s 
      designated term of research at UTokyo for international researchers.

Facilities & Equipment

Single room:

* No car parking lot provided for residents.
* Beddings need to be prepared by each resident on their own.

   Purchase of the bed pad(s) is mandatory for all residents.
   Even though you are to prepare your own beddings, be sure to place your order for the must-
   buy bed pad in time.

     A preliminary visit to the Oiwake International Village is open only to the following persons.
     1. Prospective residents (whose residency has been permitted)
     2. Close family members
     3. The host (associate) professor or his/her research or administration staff

      A simple procedure is required for a preliminary visit; please refer to "Preliminary Visit to the
      Oiwake Village" in the "Guide for Prospective Residents" of the Oiwake Village if interested.
     
      Housing Office does not accept any preliminary visits by prospective applicants for the UTokyo
      Accommodations. Please refer to the photographs and room layouts of each dorm presented
      on the Housing Office’s homepage instead.

※¹ The entrance fee is charged only once. The fee cannot be refunded once it is paid.

※² Those permitted for renewal will be billed the renewal fee on an annual basis.

※³ If the product of a daily rate and the number of days of stay is greater than the monthly amount, the monthly amount will be adopted. The monthly amount is billed for the stay from the first to the 28th or 29th of February.

Common service fee should be paid on a monthly basis in the move-in or move-out months regardless of the number of days of stay.

◎  Daily rates are applicable to the stay shorter than two months. For example, if a resident moves in on 21 October and departs on 20 November, the product of a daily rate and 31 days will be the amount to be billed.

◎  The fees cannot be refunded once it is paid.

If you plan to leave the lodge well before the final day of your permitted term of residence, please submit “Notification of Departure of the University of Tokyo International Lodge” 14 days before the departure date at the latest.
If a resident fails to submit the notification by the deadline of 14 days before the date of departure, the product of a daily rate and the number of days of delay will be added to the last bill. (For example, if the departure date is 20 November and the submission date is 10 November, the amount for four additional days will be charged.)

Applications accepted every month from six months prior to one's preferred move-in date.
