Visit of Prof. Dr. Mlynek, President of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres

On Wednesday, October 2, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Mlynek, President of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres visited our university to meet with President Junichi Hamada, Executive Vice President Hiroyuki Yamato and Vice President Takehiko Kitamori to discuss about promoting further research collaborations.

Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Mlynek met Professor Noboru Harata, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Professor Mamoru Mitsuishi, Vice Dean, to exchange views and opinions on cooperation of research in the field of engineering [The Graduate School of Engineering already has collaborations with the Karlsruher Institute for Technology]. In addition to the meeting with the Dean, Prof. Dr. Mlynek visited the laboratory of Associate Professor Yukiko Hirabayashi for a presentation about her research on hydrology and discussed about measures for encouraging younger researchers and female researchers of Japan and Germany.
