Professor Takeshi Matsumura Awarded the Grand Prix de la Francophonie by the Académie Française

The Académie française has announced the winners of its annual awards, and the most prestigious prize, the Grand Prix de la Francophonie (Grand Francophone Prize) was awarded to Professor Takeshi Matsumura (Graduate School of Arts and Sciences' Department of Language and Information Sciences; College of Arts and Sciences' Department of French and Italian).

Professor Matsumura specializes in Medieval French language, literature and lexicology, and published the Dictionnaire du français médiéval (The Dictionary of Medieval French) through the Les Belles Lettres company in 2015. His efforts were recognized with the Grand Prix de la Francophonie this year.
