Dean of the Graduate School of Science and Faculty of Science Makoto Gonokami Elected Next President of the University of Tokyo

A meeting of the Presidential Selection Committee was held at the University of Tokyo on November 27th (Thu) to elect the next president upon the expiration of the term of President Junichi Hamada. As a result, Dean of the Graduate School of Science and Faculty of Science Makoto Gonokami was elected as the next president of the University of Tokyo. The term of the president-elect will be six years starting from April 1st, 2015 through March 31st, 2021. The next president will be the 30th president of the University.
