UTokyo's IIS and IMS Hold Stem Cell Summit with the New York Stem Cell Foundation

The Institute of Industrial Science (IIS) and the Institute of Medical Science (IMS) of the University of Tokyo co-organized the “Tokyo - New York Stem Cell Summit” symposium with the New York Stem Cell Foundation* as a part of international academic exchange efforts utilizing the UTokyo New York Office. The symposium was held at the new site of the New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute inaugurated in November last year. Around 70 participants from academia and industry in Japan and the US gave oral and poster presentations on the most advanced results in stem cell research. There were active discussions among participants during the breaks.

*The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) is a non-profit organization conducting innovative stem cell research to cure major diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. The Foundation also supports and convenes global stem cell thought leaders and the broader stem cell community.
