First UTokyo Strategic Partnership Symposium

Date of activity: April 20, 2015
The First UTokyo Strategic Partnership Symposium was held at the Faculty of Engineering Bldg. 8 on Monday, April 23, 2015.
The Global Campus Promotion Office has been supporting cross-departmental programs called “Strategic Partnerships UTokyo” with a limited number of overseas partner universities following the selection of UTokyo’s initiative by MEXT (the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) as one of its Top Global University Projects last October. Strategic Partnerships play an important role along with the comprehensive reform of UTokyo’s education system in making the “Constructing a Global Campus Model at UTokyo” a reality.
Approximately 100 faculty and staff members attended the symposium to gain a deeper understanding about the Strategic Partnerships. Presenters also shared their good practices by showcasing activities and future plans of their unique research and academic programs with the overseas partner universities including the program with Princeton University (USA) which established a Strategic Partnership with UTokyo ahead of other institutions.
