New PEAK and GPEAK students begin their journey at UTokyo

October 1, 2020

New PEAK and GPEAK students began their campus life at the University of Tokyo. The 38 undergraduate and 19 graduate students, admitted to the university through a highly selective process, thus embarked on their journey to pursue studies at UTokyo.

The PEAK/GPEAK Welcome Ceremony was held in the afternoon of September 24, 2020, following the university's Matriculation Ceremony on the Hongo Campus in the morning.

The ceremony was held on a small scale due to the coronavirus pandemic. All PEAK/GPEAK students other than two representatives attended the ceremony through Zoom. But the dean, PEAK faculty members, and current student representatives celebrated warmly the start of the PEAK and GPEAK students' life at the university.

Words of welcome presented at the ceremony by Professor OHTA Kunihiro, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, can be viewed at the following link on the college's website: https://www.c.u-tokyo.ac.jp/eng_site/info/about/message/peakgpeak20200924/
