AY 2019 Spring Diploma Presentation Ceremony Held

The University of Tokyo AY 2019 Spring Diploma Presentation Ceremony was held at Yasuda Auditorium on Monday, March 23rd, 2020.

The ceremony started at 10:00 only with graduates representing each Graduate School, in order to minimize risk of infection of the novel coronavirus.

With the attendance of President Gonokami, executive vice presidents and deans of the Graduate Schools on the stage in their academic gowns, the ceremony began.

President Gonokami awarded diplomas to two of the representative graduates (Mr. Kishishita Daiki from a doctoral degree program of the Graduate School of Economics, and Mr. Ohigashi Noritaka from a doctoral degree program of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences). President Gonokami then gave a speech to the graduates, and the two representative graduates made addresses in reply on behalf of the entire graduating class, after which the ceremony was concluded.

Live streams of the ceremony were provided, and watched by many graduates and their families who were unable to attend the ceremonies, as well as the general public.
