2018 University of Tokyo Autumn Semester Diploma Presentation and Commencement Ceremony Held

The University of Tokyo 2018 Autumn Semester Diploma Presentation and Commencement Ceremony was held at Yasuda Auditorium on Friday, September 14, 2018.

The ceremony began at 10:00 a.m. with the University of Tokyo Orchestra's rendition of the “Divertimento in F major K138" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. President Makoto Gonokami, the executive vice presidents, deans of the Faculties and Graduate Schools and the directors of University Institutes then ascended to the stage in their academic gowns. Following President Makoto Gonokami's presentation of diplomas to the students representing the graduating classes of each Graduate School and the College of Arts and Sciences, the president addressed the audience. The students representing the entire graduating class (Mr. MOTANEEYACHART Vitchaphol from the Graduate School of Science and Mr. Kamiyu Hijikata from the College of Arts and Sciences) then each gave a speech in response to the president's address, after which the ceremony was concluded.
