AY 2020 Spring Diploma Presentation Ceremony held
The University of Tokyo AY 2020 Spring Diploma Presentation Ceremony was held at Yasuda Auditorium on Friday, March 19th, 2021.
The ceremony was held only with about 80 graduates, in order to minimize risk of infection of the novel coronavirus.
The ceremony began at 10:00 with the attendance of President Gonokami, executive vice presidents, deans of the Graduate Schools, directors of the Institutes and special guest Mr. Muneoka Shoji, chairman of the UTokyo Alumni Association, on the stage in their academic gowns.
President Gonokami awarded diplomas to the graduates representing each Graduate School, and gave a baccalaureate address to the graduates. Mr. Muneoka then gave a congratulatory address to the graduates, and the two representative graduates (Ms. Otake Yurie from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Mr. Kannaka Kazuki from the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences) made speeches in reply on behalf of the entire graduating class, after which the ceremony was concluded.
Livestreams of the ceremony were provided, and watched by many graduates and their families who were unable to attend the ceremonies, as well as the general public.
