Regarding the forced entry into a University facility (second report)

July 2, 2024

Conflicting information is currently being shared through social media regarding the forced entry incident that occurred at Yasuda Auditorium on the night of June 21, 2024 (Fri). We would like to clarify that statements such as “the University called in police to remove students from the premises” are inaccurate.

Several individuals, including students, forcibly entered Yasuda Auditorium around 10:30PM through a doorway that was not the main entrance. The police were notified because a security guard received injuries as a result of trying to prevent the individuals’ entry. The allegation that the police were called in to halt the students’ activities is not based on the facts.

The security guard’s injuries, including bruises, have been medically determined to take approximately one week to heal.

Entry into Yasuda Auditorium is constantly regulated, and unauthorized entry at night is not permitted.

We will continue to investigate the facts of this incident and take appropriate action.
