Chanmina comes to UTokyo
The music artist appears on session of NHK music program Tiny Desk Concerts Japan in Schools held at university
NHK’s Tiny Desk Concerts Japan left the public broadcaster’s office for the first time and came to the University of Tokyo to kick off the music program’s special edition, Tiny Desk Concerts Japan in Schools.

To mark the occasion, popular Japanese-South Korean rapper and singer Chanmina, who has captivated audiences with her mix of strength and sensibilities, and who is known for her bold lyrics and emotional, powerful performances, makes her first appearance on the music show.
The artist and her group of musicians perform at Gakkan Commons, a student community space in the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies’ Fukutake Hall, turning it into a special space where its pervading air of student activity and the artist’s passion intersect. When the music resonates with the young people living in today’s world, true chemistry is born.
The setting is very intimate without any barriers and distance separating camera, stage and audience. The live performance is very passionate, and Chanmina gives heartfelt responses to raw questions from the audience, such as “What should I do with my life?”
Her words may be sharp but also very warm, bringing a different vibe to the university.
