Professor Yuko Fujigaki named UTokyo president-elect
Professor Yuko Fujigaki of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences became president-elect of the University of Tokyo on Sept. 28, 2026, following a meeting of the University President Screening & Inspection Committee held the same day to select the successor to current President Teruo Fujii, whose term ends on March 31, 2027. President-elect Fujigaki will serve for six years as the 32nd president of the University of Tokyo, from April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2033.
