UChicago, SNU and UTokyo to lead the quantum field

The University of Chicago, Seoul National University, and the University of Tokyo have agreed to promote a global partnership on academic exchange and research in the field of quantum science and technology.

On January 18, 2024, during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting held at Davos, Switzerland, President Paul Alivisatos of the University of Chicago, President Ryu Hong Lim of Seoul National University, and President Teruo Fujii of the University of Tokyo signed the partnership agreement at AI House Davos, which was jointly initiated by the University of Tokyo’s Institute for AI and Beyond.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Jesus Mantas, Global Managing Partner of IBM Consulting. IBM is collaborating with the three universities in quantum fields.
 
By promoting future collaboration among three universities that play leading roles in the quantum field, this trilateral partnership aims to contribute to the further development of quantum science and quantum technology, which have the potential to bring about major changes in society and the economy.
