Abstract
The story of biology is largely one about information. The Central Dogma talks about information flowing from DNA to proteins. During organismal development, cells use positional information to decide what tissue to become. In neuroscience we talk about neurons processing information. And in evolutionary biology, we study information stored and inherited in genomes. This lecture will introduce efforts at the interface of physics, information theory, and biology, to reshape this narrative into a predictive scientific theory.Program
