The existing public restroom, located just inside the campus of the University of Tokyo from the symbolic Akamon, requires renovation. This brings an opportunity to consider public and health interests, both of which are promoted by the University. Accordingly, we organized a design competition [Public Restroom Near the Akamon (provisional title)] to invite a broad range of ideas from students and researchers of the University.
Now, with having selected the First Prize and the Awards for Excellence, we are announcing the results of the evaluation and presenting the comments of the judges.
Furthermore, an Awards Ceremony and Symposium will be held online. We look forward to welcoming many participants.
