UTokyo Forum 2013 has successfully concluded

The University of Tokyo’s UTokyo Forum 2013, a university-wide event held overseas with the aim of widely promoting the University’s outstanding academic and research achievements to the world, was held from 7th November to 12th November in Santiago, Chile, co-hosted together with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de Chile and in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Universidade de São Paulo, with the theme of “Chi no Souhatsu (Global Emergence of Frontier Knowledge).” More than 150 people from 20 different graduate schools and research institutions as well as many executives including President Hamada attended to this event.
More than 200 people attended each of the Forum’s various plenary and poster sessions in both Chile and Brazil. Additionally, faculties were able to strengthen their relationships through active discussions in academic workshops.
Furthermore, the University held the UTokyo Study Fair in the two universities in Chile. In Brazil, the University participated in the Japan Education Seminar 2013 (sponsored by JASSO - Japan Student Services Organization) and was visited about 500 students in total.
