UTokyo FSI Symposium “AI for Future Society” held Speaker: Dr. Jeffrey Dean, Senior Fellow, Google AI

The Future Society Initiative (FSI) Symposium “AI for Future Society” was held on July 11, 2019. Dr. Jeffrey Dean, Senior Fellow of Google AI, gave a talk that highlighted some of Google AI's research and computer systems with an eye toward how they can be used to solve challenging problems, as well as relate them to the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Engineering Challenges for the 21st Century, including the use of machine learning for healthcare, robotics, and engineering the tools of scientific discovery. He also covered how machine learning is transforming many aspects of our computing hardware and software systems. The symposium was attended by 379 people, including UTokyo and non-UTokyo members, students and researchers.
