UTokyo-NTU Joint Conference 2019 was held

The UTokyo-NTU Joint Conference 2019 was held on Dec. 9 and 10 under the theme of “Co-creating the Future Society in Asia.” This conference has been held alternately at the University of Tokyo and National Taiwan University (NTU) almost every year since 2015, as part of the Strategic Partnership Project. The plenary session was held at the Yayoi Auditorium in the morning of Dec. 9.

Professor Shinichiro Takahashi, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and Professor Horng-Huei Liou, Department of Neurology, College of Medicine, NTU, gave keynote speeches titled “One Earth Guardians Development Program” and “An overview of establishing National Geriatric Medicine and Health Welfare Center,” respectively.

Afterwards, four students from both universities talked about participating in joint educational programs. Approximately 250 faculty, staff and students from both universities attended the session.

In the afternoon of Dec. 9 and on Dec. 10, 20 parallel sessions were held at various departments of the University. The conference ended in great success.
