GSDM will host a seminar jointly with The IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) to help IEO's global outreach efforts. The seminar is designed to serve two purposes. The first is to raise the awareness of the mission of the IEO among scholars and students of international affairs and the second is to solicit advice on the future work program of the IEO from experts in academia and think tanks.
The IEO was established in 2001 to systematically conduct objective and independent evaluations on issues of relevance to the mandate of the IMF. It is intended to serve as a means to enhance the learning culture within the IMF, strengthen the IMF's external credibility, and support the Executive Board's institutional governance and oversight responsibilities. The IEO is headed by Mr. Charles Collyns as Director since February 1, 2017.
