CEDEP Symposium “Slow Pedagogies in Early Childhood Education”

Abstract
In the fast-changing society, childhood seems to be “accelerating” as well. Prof. Alison Clark has been questioning the “time” of early childhood and advocating the value of “slow pedagogy” and “slow knowledge” to challenge the trend of acceleration. In this symposium, she will talk about slow pedagogy based on her recent book, “Slow knowledge and the unhurried child: time for slow pedagogies in early childhood education”. We will consider what practices enable “unhurried children” and “unhurried adults”.
