Date: Friday, May 17, 14:00-17:00
Online: Komaba I Campus 21 KOMCEE West K303
Language: English with Japanese assistance
Speakers: Minami Shinohara and Mahi Patki
Abstract
This workshop introduces UTokyo faculty, staff, and students who are interested in climate change to the innovative tool for climate education called “Climate Fresk”: an immersive game in which one can get a more complete picture of the phenomenon by building cause-and-effect relationships. It is based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports - the same reports that inform global political and economic decision-making at the highest level. The Climate Fresk is suitable for teaching the complex processes of climate change in an accessible and interesting way to people of all educational and professional backgrounds.
